The “Bigger. Better. Texas.” Economic Development Strategic Plan is a five-year economic development strategy for the state of Texas released by the Governor’s office. The plan was referred to as a blueprint for continued economic prosperity. Governor Greg Abbott released the plan today along with a website containing further details. The website notes that the plan accomplishes a number of objectives:
- Establishes a unifying vision for the future of our Texas economy
- Identifies new target industry sectors and clusters expected to drive strategic economic growth and job creation
- Outlines objectives and initiatives to advance the state’s global competitiveness
- Provides data and recommendations to inform economic development decisions across the state
