TCEQ sent out a reminder for all public water systems serving residential customers to immediately notify TCEQ if there is an unplanned water outage or an unplanned condition that results in the issuance of a boil water notice, do-not-use advisory, or do-not-consume advisory.
In addition to immediately notifying TCEQ using this form, public water systems must:
- Issue the boil water notice, do-not-use advisory, or do-not-consume advisory to the public as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours after the incident.
- Submit a copy of the public notice to TCEQ at pwsbwn@tceq.texas.gov within 24 hours or no later than the next business day.
- Submit a certificate of delivery to TCEQ at pwsbwn@tceq.texas.gov within 10 days of issuing the public notice to customers.
- Rescind the notice to customers once all the conditions requiring the notice are resolved.
- Submit a copy of the rescinded notice, the certificate of delivery, and any associated sample results to TCEQ at pwsbwn@tceq.texas.gov within 10 days of rescinding the public notice.
