The Senate Chamber has two bills posted for their Thursday calendar: SB 30 relating to the state virtual school network and, SB 31 relating to the guarantee of open-enrollment charter school bonds by the permanent school fund. Both bills are authored by Sen. Florence Shapiro.
The Senate will reconvene on Thursday, June 9, 2011 2:00 pm.
The House Chamber will reconvene today at 1:00 pm. There is one bill on the calendar; SB 7 (Nelson/Zerwas) which is the healthcare cost containment bill.
On Friday the House Calendar is the fiscal matters bill (SB 1) in addition to several other bills relating to health care and education.
Daily House Calendar, Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:00 am:
- SB 1* – fiscal matters bill.
- SB 2 * – technical corrections bill to appropriations bill in regular session.
- HB 13 – requires the executive commissioner of HHSC to seek a waiver to the state Medicaid plan.
- HB 18 – elementary class size limits in public school.
- HB 19 – hearings on public school educator contracts.
- HB 20 – notice required for nonrenewal of teacher contract or termination of a probationary contract.
- HB 21 – reduction in force of teachers employed by a school district.
*All original amendments to CSSB 1 and CSSB 2 that will be offered during second reading consideration on Thursday must be filed with the chief clerk not later than 5:00 pm, Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
