TEA announced a new proposed rule that aims to implement the statutory requirement for school districts to annually assess compliance with the district policy requiring a school counselor to spend at least 80 percent of the school counselor’s total work time on duties that are components of a counseling program as required by Senate Bill 179 87(R). This proposed rule was published in the November 4 edition of the Texas Register. The public comment period is November 4-December 5, 2022.
