The Department of Information Resources (DIR) has released their 2016-2020 State Strategic Plan. The plan contains five strategic goals for statewide information technology for the years 2016-2020. The goals represent the need for Texas government to provide reliable and secure services, be cost-effective and collaborative, and promote data management and analytics to create a digital government environment that will extend services beyond traditional operations.

The five strategic goals are:

  • Reliable and Secure Services
  • Mature IT Resources Management
  • Cost-Effective and Collaborative Solutions
  • Data Utility
  • Mobile and Digital Services
