On November 6, Governor Greg Abbott announced the U.S. Department of Defense has deployed three U.S. Air Force Medical Specialty Teams to assist the state’s efforts to combat COVID-19 in El Paso. These teams will support three El Paso city hospitals: the University Medical Center of El Paso, the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, and the Las Palmas Del Sol Medical Center. El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth, and counties listed here are still classified by the DSHS as Trauma Service Areas where for the last seven days 15% or more of total hospital capacity has been COVID‑19 patients.

After the initial surge in El Paso at the beginning of  October, the state sent in additional resources on October 12, October 22 and October 25. On October 29, El Paso updated their Work Home Stay Safe order that establishes a curfew for all persons from 10 PM to 5 AM and urges all residents to shelter at home.  This order updates the previous October 16 Work Home Stay Safe Order and is effective through November 11. The Governor also surged resources to Amarillo and Lubbock on October 16.
