Key voting details/stats

  • 15 million Texans registered to vote in the November election (all-time record)
  • Around three quarters of all votes cast were cast early, also a record*
  • Election Day turnout plummeted after record-shattering early voting turnout*
  • Just over 2 million Texans voted on Election Day*
  • That number may be the lowest number of Texans voting on a presidential Election Day since 1960*
  • A total of 8.9 million votes were cast in the presidential races
  • Preliminary analysis of data from 76 counties suggests more than 3 out of every 5 votes cast by Texans were straight-ticket votes*
  • Libertarian Gary Johnson sets the record for a Libertarian presidential candidate with 3% and the party is poised to secure access to the ballot in 2018 as RRC candidate for the election garnered over 5% of the votes*
