Sources say that State Rep. Dan Gattis, R-Georgetown, is abandoning his campaign for the Texas Senate District 5 and, incumbent Sen. Steve Ogden, R-Bryan, will not retire as he originally stated in the beginning of November, but will now run for re-election in District 5.
It is not clear if Gattis will run for another Senate seat but he will not run for re-election for his House seat.
An announcement is expected sometime tomorrow.
