Governor Appoints Four To Texas Medical Board District One Review Committee
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Laurel Simmons to the Texas Medical Board District One Review Committee for a term set to expire on January 15, 2028. Additionally, the Governor appointed Rajesh Shenava, M.D. and Mark Hobson and reappointed David Davila, D.O. for terms set to expire on January 15, 2030.
Laurel Simmons is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Houston Law Center. Rajesh Shenava, M.D. is a nephrologist, who has been in private practice since 2010, and is a member of the American Society of Nephrology. Mark Hobson is retired and has more than 46 years of experience in the furniture industry. He is an advisory board member of the Neuhaus Education Center and a volunteer for the Christian Community Service Center. David Davila, D.O. is a cosmetic surgeon at Houston Cosmetic Surgery Center.
Governor Appoints Miller To Texas Water Development Board
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Tonya Miller to the Texas Water Development Board for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. Tonya Miller was previously vice president of wholesale power strategic projects and optimization for the Lower Colorado River Authority. Additionally, she also served as the executive director of the Texas Solar Power Association, director of the Office of Air at the TCEQ, public counsel and chief executive officer for the Office of Public Utility Counsel, assistant director and special counsel for the Radioactive Materials Division at TCEQ, and as a legislative liaison for TCEQ.
Governor Appoints Jones To Board Of The Texas Department Of Motor Vehicles
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Mark Jones to the Board of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029. Mark Jones is CEO of the Mike Carlson Motor Company and is a member and former president of the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
Governor Reappoints Buckley To Southern Regional Education Board
Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Representative Brad Buckley, D.V.M. to the Southern Regional Education Board for a term set to expire on June 30, 2028. Representative Brad Buckley, D.V.M. is currently serving his third term in the Texas House of Representatives and represents House District 54, which includes half of Bell County in Central Texas. He is chair of the House Public Education Committee and serves on the House Land and Resource Management Committee
