On Monday, March 14, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. EDT, the full Committee on Energy and Commerce began consideration of the Energy Tax Prevention Act (H.R. 910). HR 910 would amend the Clean Air Act to prohibit the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from promulgating any regulation concerning, taking action relating to, or taking into consideration the emission of a greenhouse gas to address climate change, and for other purposes. On conclusion of opening statements, it is expected that Committee Chair Fred Upton (R-Michigan) will call up H.R. 910 and then immediately recess. If that does occur, it is anticipated the Committee will re-convene on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.
H.R. 910 was approved by voice vote by the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy and Power on March 10.
