Governor Rick Perry recently appointed chairs to both the Health and Human Services Council and the State Health Services Council.
 
Perry appointed Ben Raimer of Galveston as chair of the Health and Human Services Council which helps develop policies and rules for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and makes recommendations regarding the management and operation of the commission.  Raimer recently served as chairman of the Texas Institute of Health Care Quality and Efficiency.
 
Perry appointed Jacinto Juarez of Laredo as chair of the State Health Services Council which makes recommendations regarding the management, operation, policies and rules for public health, mental health and substance abuse. Juarez also served on the Texas Institute of Health Care Quality and Efficiency.
 
Both terms are set to expire at the pleasure of the governor.
