Texas House Representative Jim Murphy (District 133) announced changes to his staff in his Capitol Office. Martha Bell Liner will serve as the new Chief of Staff. Ms. Bell is returning to office where she served as Legislative Assistant in 2007. Murphy’s long-time Chief of Staff Molly Quirk will be moving to the Office of Government Relations at the Texas General Land Office.

Lichelle Armstrong – Legislative Assistant
Sarah Amid – Policy Analyst
Eiman Siddiqui- Legislative Assistant
Roel Benavides – University of Houston Hobby Fellow
Katherine Diaz – Texas A&M Public Policy Internship Program
 
Liner spent six years as a legislative staffer in the Texas State House of Representatives and served as the Executive Director of the Texas House Republican Caucus. After three legislative sessions, she accepted a position with Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter managing campaign finance and consulting on political strategy. Her first foray into state government and policy was in Rep. Murphy’s office.
 
Williams will handle all scheduling requests and help Liner with the office’s administrative functions. Both Amid and Siddiqui served on Rep. Murphy’s staff as interns while attending the University of Houston. Now graduated, Amid and Siddiqui will join Armstrong, Benavides and Diaz in researching legislation, analyzing proposed bills, drafting position papers and talking points, and communicating the latest developments of the session with constituents.
 
Deanna Harrington will continue to serve as District Director in the Houston-based district. Harrington has served in this capacity for more than three years and is well-versed in the issues concerning residents of the area.
