On September 16th the Select Committee on Public School Finance Weights, Allotments and Adjustments met for invited and public testimony on issues related to the public school finance system.

As members once again discussed the finance system and agreed it was broken, Senate Public Education Chair Florence Shapiro, R-Plano argued Texas needs to scrap its school funding system and start all over. “We need to find a better system that works for all of us,” said Shapiro. Possible ideas and suggestions for a new plan are still being formulated.
