The Senate took up several fiscal matters bills on May 5. Those bills were:

  • CSSB 1584 by Ogden, relating to state fiscal matters related to natural resources and the environment. The bill as substituted and amended was passed to third reading
  • CSSB 1583 by Ogden, relating to state fiscal matters related to law enforcement and criminal justice.  The bill as substituted and amended was passed out of the Senate with 25 ayes and 6 nays
  • CSSB 1579 by Ogden, relating to state fiscal matters related to general government. The bill as substituted and amended was passed out of the Senate with 28 ayes and 3 nays.

Sen. Rodney Ellis offered an amendment relating to high-cost gas tax exemptions when SB 1584 was brought to the floor. He later pulled down the amendment to work on it further noting he would bring it back up when the bill returned for third reading.
