Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) will host a stakeholder forum on health price transparency on Thursday, November 13, 2014. This meeting will inform stakeholders of TDI’s ongoing efforts to promote price transparency in accord with Insurance Code Chapter 38, Subchapter H, Health Care Reimbursement Rate Information. TDI has partnered with the University of Texas School of Public Health to improve TDI’s existing Consumer Reimbursement Rate Guide tool.

TDI seeks input from stakeholders and the public on revising the data collection methodology to improve the accuracy and relevance of information available to consumers. This conversation will focus on changes to the data collection form LHL616 and associated instructions, as well as changes to the data collection rule at 28 TAC Chapter 21, Subchapter KK. More information on this project is available on TDI's website at: www.tdi.texas.gov/health/healthprices.html.
