HHSC staff members have started conducting meetings in cities and towns where STAR+PLUS, Medicaid managed care for people who are elderly or have disabilities, will be expanding on September 1, 2014. Currently, STAR+PLUS is expected to incorporate the Medicaid Rural Service Areas (MRSA Central, MRSA Northeast and MRSA West). It is estimated the expansion will serve an additional 80,000 members in STAR+PLUS. 

MRSA Central serves the following counties: Bell, Blanco, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Comanche, Coryell, DeWitt, Erath, Falls, Freestone, Gillespie, Gonzales, Grimes, Hamilton, Hill, Jackson, Lampasas, Lavaca, Leon, Limestone, Llano, Madison, McLennan, Milam, Mills, Robertson, San Saba, Somervell, Washington 

MRSA Northeast serves the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Cooke, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Grayson, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Marion, Montague, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt, Wood

The next scheduled meetings are in Austin on January 8 with an early afternoon session for Medicaid providers and a later afternoon session for clients, caregivers, and stakeholders.
