Speaker Joe Straus today announced the appointment of Representative Warren Chisum to the executive committee of the Energy Council. Rep. Chisum serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Environmental Regulation.

 

“Rep. Warren Chisum brings extensive knowledge to the Energy Council with his background in oil and gas,” said Speaker Straus.

 

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the Energy Council was created to promote a balanced national energy strategy and related environmental policies, foster an understanding for energy and its role in the global economy and environment, to assist member legislators in leading their states’ policymaking efforts on energy and environment, and to initiate dialogues with policymakers, at all levels, on energy and related environmental matters. The executive committee is the governing body of the Council and implements the goals and policies of the Energy Council.

 

The executive committee of the Energy Council consists of two members of the Senate and two members of the House from each of the 12 member states – Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
