Upcoming hearings on Sunset bills – more details below in Spotlight on hearings:

  • HB 2134, relating to the continuation and functions of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the Office of Public Utility Counsel, and the Public Utility Commission of Texas, was heard on March 14 in House State Affairs.                        
  • SB 647 relating to the continuation and operation of the Office of Public Insurance Counsel, was heard on March 14 in Senate Government Organization.                  
  • HB 1915 relating to abolishing the Texas Youth Commission and the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission and transferring the powers to the newly created Texas Juvenile Justice Department and to the functions of the independent ombudsman, is scheduled to be heard March 15 in House Corrections.
