Discussion of Agency Re-Organization
- TDLR will take on 8 new licensing programs
- Driver training program (9/1/2015)
- Athletic trainers (TBD)
- Dietitians (TBD)
- Fitters and dispensers of hearing instruments (TBD)
- Midwives (TBD)
- Orthotists and prosthetists (TBD)
- Speech-language pathologists and audiologists (TBD)
- Dyslexia therapists and practitioners (TBD)
- Driver training program took effect on 9/1/15
- A transition plan to be developed by DSHS and TDLR will include a transition plan for the other seven programs which will be transferred no later than 8/31/17
- There are currently 18 TDLR advisory boards; this number is expected to increase to 26
- IT divisions merged together to focus on external threats that have affected other agencies
