Detailed reports of how much campaigns raised and spent between July 1st and September 23rd were due to the Texas Ethics Commission on Monday.  

 

Heading into the last month of campaigning before election day arrives, Governor Rick Perry (R) reported over $10 million cash on hand, while Democratic challenger Bill White reported $2.8 million cash on hand. White spent $11 million and raised $4.7 million during the last period. Perry spent $4 million and raised $8.2 million in campaign contributions.

 

According to those reports, Gov. Rick Perry received sizeable donations from individual donors while challenger Bill White received large donations came from labor unions, trial lawyers and the Democratic Governors Association.

Latest Poll Numbers

The WFAA-Belo Texas Poll shows half of likely voters surveyed by Public Strategies support Perry over White.

 

Public Strategies conducted a statewide telephone poll of 1,000 registered voters in Texas September 27-October 2, 2010 on behalf of BELO. The sample included 704 likely voters – those who say they vote in “most” or “all” school, local and primary elections. The margin of error for random sample of 704 likely voters is ±3.7 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence interval.
