The Texas Water Development Board met to approve resolutions from the City of River Oaks and West Wise Special Utility District totaling $28,430,000.

Consider approving by resolution a request from the City of River Oaks (Tarrant County) for a $7,000,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning, design and construction of improvements to the wastewater collection system.

- The water plant was built in 1953 and needs to be passed.

- Director Lake – total water loss is only 8%, which is the best we have seen. Is it a concentrated leakage problem?

- The frequent transport, concerns have been expressed in order to relocate the treatment center.
- Build new campus in Northeast area, Bridgeport does not have enough area to build campus
- Due to the cost of treated water, user rates were estimated to increase by 155%
- Propose to install automatic readers
- Rates would be placed 60 priors
- Public Utility commission would take authority; customers have 90 days to protest rates
- Rate will be considered by TCEQ
- Director Jackson – from facility standpoint, it is good to look at alternatives.
- Director Lake – great community impact but has lots of challenges ahead of them
- Director Bruun – it is a substantial increase, I’m afraid we are going to see these types of applications. But they are doing the rate study, and it stated it wouldn’t be much more than it. Entered support into record.
