The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) will hold a Board meeting to present the 2015 Texas Rain Catcher Awards. The award recognizes excellence in the application of rainwater harvesting in Texas, promotes rainwater harvesting technology, and educates the public on the importance of this water-saving practice.

This year, the award will recognize recipients in five categories: agriculture, commercial, community, educational, and residential. This year’s winners are Bob Durham and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (agriculture), Seaholm Power Development, LLC (commercial), Hill Country Youth Event Center (community), Luci and Ian Family Garden at the Lady Bird Wildflower Center (educational), and the Alvarez residence (residential).

The Board will also recognize three applications with honorable mentions and present an honorary posthumous award to Jack A. Hollon.

The Board meeting will be held on Monday, March 21, in Austin at the Stephen F. Austin Building, 1700 North Congress Avenue, Room 170, at 9:30 a.m.
