A spotlight on the November 2 bond election was included in a previous HillCo Advisory. The following overview is a result of re-categorization and updates from the most recent data. Additionally, Comal ISD’s VATRE was included as a part of the bond election data, but as VATREs are in a category of their own, that data is not included in the summary below.
In the November 2 election 111 bonds were put on ballots and 51 passed (45.9%). Out of $8.7 billion proposed, $5.3 billion passed. The following is an overview of the percentage of bonds passed by category:
- 89% – Technology
- 50% – Buildings & Operations
- 46% – Multi-Purpose Facilities
- 19.2% – Athletic Facilities
- 0% – Maintenance
- 0% – Fine Art Facilities
Out of 63 ISDs 44.4% did not pass any bonds, 36.5% passed all of their bonds, and 19.1% passed some of their bonds.
