The Census Bureau has released Texas’s Geographic Support Products. These are provided to states to support redistricting efforts and contain newly created 2020 Census blocks and updated block groups, census tracts, voting districts, and current boundaries for legal governments and school districts.

Of note, these products are not the Census Redistricting Data Summary File, which is used by the state to begin the map-drawing process. According to a Census Bureau Official during an NCSL webinar, they do not expect this file to be available before July 30. The Texas Tribune theorizes the delay in drawing maps could disrupt Texas elections in 2022.

Additionally, the Census Bureau announced April 30 is the current set date for the completion of apportionment counts.
