The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released a Consumer Price Index Summary for October 2021. The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.9 percent in October on a seasonally adjusted basis, the largest gain in four months, after rising 0.4 percent in September. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 6.2 percent before seasonal adjustment, the largest 12-month increase since the period ending November 1990.
