A new report on the Seismic Interpretation of the Edwards-Trinity (Plateau) Aquifer is now available on the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) website.
In September of 2023, TWDB contracted with INTERA Inc. to evaluate the feasibility of using existing 2D seismic data to image portions of the Edwards-Trinity (Plateau) Aquifer.
The final report and accompanying files are now available on the TWDB website and offer a detailed guide for anyone interested in integrating 2D seismic data into a hydrogeologic study.
The report covers:
- a ranking of seismic lines based on their feasibility in imaging the Edwards-Trinity (Plateau) Aquifer,
- criteria used to select lines for licensing,
- reprocessing techniques to enhance shallow-depth resolution,
- methods for creating well ties to anchor seismic data to depth,
- the depth conversion process, and
- discussion of interpretation and integration of 2D seismic data into a groundwater study.
