The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has developed a proposed Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants Implementation Plan. House Bill 500, passed during the 89th Legislative Session, made a one-time appropriation of $1.038 billion in general revenue to TWDB for water supply and infrastructure projects and grants. The public comment period on the proposed plan is open.
The proposed implementation plan establishes a framework for TWDB to administer this one time, stand-alone grant opportunity. This program will operate outside of existing TWDB financial assistance programs.
Funding will be provided as 100% grant assistance as is limited to water supply and infrastructure projects such as reuse projects and projects which address real or apparent water loss.
The public comment period for this rulemaking ends Wednesday, February 4th. Instructions for submitting comments can be found through the public notice and proposed Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants Implementation Plan, which are both available on the TWDB website.
