Lt. Gov. Patrick has released Senate committee assignments for 2026. The interim select committees below will be made permanent standing committees when the 90th Legislature commences in January 2027 and chairs will remain in their positions. The committees include the newly created Senate Select Committee on Religious Liberty, which Patrick announced earlier today. The chairs are as follows:

- Pete Flores, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice Chair
- Angela Paxton, Senate Committee on Economic Development Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Donna Campbell, Senate Committee on Education Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Joan Huffman, Senate Committee on Finance Chair
- Lois Kolkhorst, Senate Committee on Health and Human Services Chair
- Paul Bettencourt, Senate Committee on Higher Education Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Paul Bettencourt, Senate Committee on Local Government Chair
- Kevin Sparks, Senate Committee on Natural Resources Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Adam Hinojosa, Senate Committee on Nominations Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Bryan Hughes, Senate Committee on State Affairs Chair
- Tan Parker, Senate Committee on Transportation Chair (newly appointed chair)
- Charles Perry, Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs Chair
