Governor Abbott issued two proclamations today. The first proclamation set the runoff election date for the 18th Congressional District for Saturday, January 31, 2026. The seat was vacated by the late Congressman Sylvester Turner.
The second proclamation set the runoff election date for Texas Senate District 9. This seat was vacated by former Senator Kelly Hancock. This runoff election is also set for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Early voting for both elections will begin Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
