The U.S. Supreme Court has granted an application to stay a lower court decision that enjoined recently passed Congressional redistricting maps, allowing the new maps to be used in the upcoming 2026 General Election. The SCOTUS decision notes that Texas officials are “likely to succeed” on appeal and that the District Court “improperly inserted itself into an active primary campaign.”

AG Ken Paxton appealed the District Court decision in late November. Statements on the decision from AG Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott can be found here and here.
