The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has adopted new windstorm building codes for structures insured by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA).
The amendments are necessary to adopt the 2024 IRC and IBC and make conforming changes to adopted forms. These amendments are also necessary to correct applicable dates for the 2006 and 2018 IRC and IBC because an emergency rule adopted in response to the coronavirus delayed the effective date.
