TDI is working with the Governor’s Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO) on a regulatory efficiency review to reduce unnecessary regulations and increase transparency. In an initial review, TDI and TREO identified more than 300 possible opportunities to streamline TDI rules. TDI is seeking stakeholder feedback on the inclusion of each item as staff develop the list of final recommendations. This feedback is preliminary and separate from the formal rulemaking process under the Administrative Procedures Act. Any future, formal rulemaking will provide notice and an opportunity to comment on the substance of the rule revisions.

A list of items posted for stakeholder feedback is available here (PDF).

For more information on the TREO reduction categories and regulatory reduction strategies used in the list, see TREO’s resource page.
