TEA has published the following recent letters to school administrators:

  • 2024–25 School Year Data Submission for SPPI 7 and SPPI 13 in the TEAL SPP Application – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will open the 2024-2025 school year State Performance Plan (SPP) application in the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) for data submission of both State Performance Plan Indicator (SPPI) 7, Preschool Outcomes, and SPPI 13, Secondary Transition, on April 1, 2025. School systems must complete their data submissions by August 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Release of School Year 2023-2024 Preliminary Compliance Reviews for IDEA-B LEA MOE – TEA has calculated the school year 2023–2024 (fiscal year 2024) preliminary compliance reviews for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B (IDEA-B) local educational agency (LEA) maintenance of effort (MOE). School systems can find their preliminary review data in the GFFC Reports and Data Collections secure application via TEAL.
  • Posting for Public Comment 21st CCLC Tydings Waiver – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is requesting a Tydings waiver to extend the period of availability of Federal Fiscal Year 2022 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant funds. If approved, the period of availability for these funds would be extended through September 30, 2025, and all funds must be obligated during this period.
  • Final Accountability System Manual for 2025 Ratings and Proposed Amendment to ESSA State Plan – The final Accountability Rating System Manual was filed on Monday, March 17, is posted online, and will become effective on April 6, 2025. The Accountability Ratings Appeals Process and Timeline was also filed on March 17, is posted online, and will become effective on April 6. The final manual and timeline are the result of feedback collected from the proposed rules posted in February.
  • Accelerated Instruction: HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List for the 2025-2026 School Year – Pursuant to HB 1416 (88R), TEA can approve automated, computerized, or other augmented method products for providing accelerated instruction which may waive the statutorily required 4-to-1 student-to-tutor ratio. The HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List (RWL) includes approved products that can be used to waive this ratio requirement. More details are available on the HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List Products website.
