The Senate finally passed the following bills on Tuesday, September 2nd:

  • HB 27(Harris) Groundwater study of certain aquifers underlying the territory of the Neches and Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District– (22-5) with 1 floor amendment
  • HB 15(Hefner) Law enforcement agency files – (18-9)

The Senate also passed the following bills to 3rd reading:

  • HB 7(Leach) Prohibitions on the manufacture and provision of abortion-inducing drugs – (17-9)

The House passed the following bills on Tuesday, September 2nd:

  • HB 18 (Shaheen) Limiting political contributions and expenditures for members who break quorum – (86-46) with 2 amendments, including a floor substitute
  • SB 54 (Hughes) Reversing a county election provision previously passed during regular session – (87-46)

The House also refused to concur on the conference committee report for SB 10 (Meyer) reducing the threshold triggering local property tax elections from 3.5% to 2.5%. The bill can continue to be deliberated in conference with the Senate.

Both the House and the Senate are scheduled to reconvene at 6pm on Wednesday, September 3rd.
