Quorum was not present in the House last week, for more details see House quorum updates here. House committees continued to meet, with House Select Disaster Preparedness & Flooding meeting on Tuesday, August 5, and Friday, August 8, to take up and vote out House Bills 1, 2, 18, 19, and 20. House Culture, Recreation, and Tourism also met on Wednesday, August 6, to hear updates from state agencies and stakeholders on emergency preparedness and response.

The Senate continues to meet both on the floor and in committee. On Wednesday, August 6, the Senate passed SBs 7, 9, and 15 off the floor after several hours of deliberation. In addition to Senate Redistricting, Senate State Affairs, Senate Education K-16, and Senate Select Disaster Preparedness & Flooding met last week to take up bills and hear from stakeholders. The Senate currently has SBs 1, 2, 4, 8, 13, and 43 scheduled on the calendar for floor consideration and these bills can be taken up on short notice.
