Moments ago President Trump issued stricter guidelines to stop virus spread including states with evidence of community spread to close bars, restaurants and other indoor and outdoor venues where groups of people congregate. The new guidelines also call on Americans to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people.
Additionally, Governor Abbott during his press conference this afternoon said there were 57 confirmed cases across 15 counties in Texas and that more than half of the school districts across the state are closed. Abbott also stated that testing capabilities will be upscaled across the entire state. But Abbott cautioned that as testing becomes more widely available, the public should be prepared for an “exponential increase in the number of people who test positive on a daily basis.”
