SB 13 (Birdwell/P King) amends the Government Code to prohibit a state agency or political subdivision from entering into a contract with a company unless the contract contains a written verification from the company that it does/will not, during the contract term, boycott energy companies. SB 19 (Campbell/Hefner) relating to prohibited contracts with companies that discriminate against the firearm or ammunition industries. SB 19 requires business contracts with the state to include a disclaimer that the private entity does not maintain a policy discriminating against firearms-related businesses. SB 475 (Nelson/Capriglione) requires DIR to appoint a data management advisory committee who will establish a statewide risk and authorization management program. DIR must establish a framework for regional cybersecurity working groups, among other requirements. The bill was sent to the Governor on 6/1.

SB 799 (Nelson/Paddie) relating to contracting procedures for governmental entities standardization of procurement thresholds, includes changes to group purchasing power, and increases the ability of a state hospital to contract with medical providers. Provisions in HB 3658 (Capriglione) related to higher education and best value were added on as amendments in the House. The bill was sent to the Governor on 6/1.
