This February brought more than a 17 percent leap in the number of business formations processed by the Office of the Texas Secretary of State compared to a year ago.
 
A total of 15,325 certificates of formation were filed with the Texas Secretary of State in February, creating new for-profit corporations, professional corporations, professional associations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships. This represents a 17.83 percent increase over February 2015, which saw the formation of 13,006 new business entities. These numbers exclude non-profit entity formations.
 
The double-digit growth also denotes a 7.31 percent increase from January 2016 for-profit business formation totals.
