Lieutenant Governor Dewhurst appointed Senator Brandon Creighton to three following Senate committees: Senate Committee on Open Government, the Senate Committee on State Affairs, and the Joint Interim Committee on Judicial Selection.
Senator Creighton was elected in a special election on August 5, 2014, and succeeds Senator Tommy Williams as Senator from District 4. He was sworn into office by Governor Rick Perry on August 26, 2014.
