Representative Elliott Naishtat (D-Austin) is recovering following hospitalization due to a fall on August 22 during the 10th Annual National Conference of State Legislators Bipartisan Bike Ride in Minneapolis.
Naishtat received treatment at a Minneapolis hospital after falling from his bike and suffering from some internal bleeding which caused bruising and swelling of his leg.
Naishtat spent some time in the ICU but was later moved to a regular hospital room. Medical treatment was sufficient and Naishtat did not require surgery.
House Speaker Joe Straus released a statement on Naishtat’s condition Saturday night.
