Texas House Speaker Joe Straus (San Antonio) has announced the appointments of Reps. Cindy Burkett (Sunnyvale), Larry Gonzales (Round Rock) and Richard Raymond (Laredo) to the Sunset Advisory Commission. Their terms on the commission will expire on September 1, 2017.
Representative Four Price, who has served on the Commission since 2011, has been named Vice Chair for the 2014-2015 biennium.
Straus also appointed Dallas attorney and business consultant Tom Luce to serve as a public member of the Commission.
More than 20 state agencies are scheduled for Sunset review during the 2014-2015 biennium. Among those are the Health and Human Services Commission and 4 other human service-related agencies, the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Education Agency, and Texas Facilities Commission.
