Rep. Fred Brown (R – College Station) also announced his retirement from the Texas House today immediately after the Special Session. He was on the House Land and Resource Management and Higher Education Committees. Brown says the decision to vacate the seat on Thursday gives his successor an opportunity to accrue seniority when the next regular session starts in January 2013. Brown has been a member of the Texas House since 1999.
