Until the session convenes Sine Die on Monday, May 30, no bill can be called dead. But if SB 1811 is not passed on Monday, it has been reported that Governor Rick Perry will call a special session to convene this coming Tuesday, May 31 to address SB 1811. Although, there is no requirement on when the day is set. There are other matters which may also be included in the call such as the Texas Windstorm Insurance Agency (TWIA) reform bill which stakeholders could not reach agreement in, the congressional districts map, and possibly sanctuary cities. SB 23 is also likely to be a subject of any special session as it contains Article II health and human services savings necessary to balance the budget passed by HB 1.

As soon as details are confirmed a HillCo Client News Flash will be sent out with the latest information.
