The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality adopted a TRRP rule amendment in January, which updates the chemical-specific approaches used for developing and demonstrating attainment of the critical human health protective concentration levels (PCLs) for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (dioxins/furans) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The amended rule is effective February 6, 2025.

The TCEQ has developed RG-648: TRRP Guidance on Polychlorinated Dioxins/Furans and Dioxin-Like PCBs to provide information on the process to develop and demonstrate attainment of the critical human health PCLs for dioxins/furans and dioxin-like PCBs, as required by TRRP.
