The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) will hold a stakeholder meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd regarding a study of brackish groundwater resources of the Yegua-Jackson Aquifer. TWDB has contracted with INTERA Inc. to conduct the study.

At the meeting, INTERA will provide an overview of the study area and previous TWDB work on the aquifer, present preliminary maps of updated hydrostratigraphic surfaces, and solicit aquifer data from stakeholders. INTERA will also describe the project objectives to

  • update the structural and stratigraphic framework,
  • develop a total dissolved solids profile of the Yegua-Jackson Aquifer,
  • estimate producible volumes of brackish groundwater in 30- and 50- year timeframes, and
  • identify potential production areas for brackish groundwater.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on INTERA’s preliminary mapping. Registration for the meeting can be completed here. Questions can be emailed to evan.strickland@twdb.texas.gov.

The meeting will be recorded and made available online for those unable to attend.
