The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) announced that Steve Pier has been appointed as the agency’s new executive director. The appointment will become effective on February 2.
Pier brings nearly three decades of policy and government experience to the role, most recently as the Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the State of Texas.
Pier also led the government relations offices at both the Office of Attorney General and TWC, served as a chief of staff in the Texas House of Representatives, and served on multiple political campaigns.
