Governor Abbott has released his 2026 Report to the People of Texas. The report looks back over 2025 as well as outlines the Governor’s vision for the current year. These reports are released during interim years in which the Legislature does not meet and there is no formal State of the State address given.
The report includes a summary of the 89th Legislative Session, highlighting education savings accounts and career training, bail reform, cybersecurity and investments in water infrastructure, among other items.
The report also highlights the state of the Texas economy, public safety and border security.
