Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced the appointment of Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, to the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT) Advisory Committee. The lieutenant governor issued the following statement regarding the announcement:
“I am proud to appoint Sen. Kolkhorst to the SWIFT Advisory Committee. Senator Kolkhorst is a hard- working and committed senator who will provide prudent insight and sound conservative principles to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of this committee.”
The SWIFT Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Texas Water Development Board regarding the use of money in the state water implementation fund. It reviews the overall operation, function, and structure of the fund and provides recommendations to the board. Sen. Kolkhorst replaces Senator Craig Estes who will not be returning in the 2019 session.
