Governor Greg Abbott has issued a proclamation ordering an expedited special election for state Senate District 6 following the resignation of Senator Sylvia Garcia. The election is expedited in anticipation of the 86th Legislative Session and will be held on Tuesday, December 11. Early voting will begin on Monday, November 26. Senator Garcia resigned from the state Senate following her election to Texas’ 29th Congressional District on Tuesday, November 6.
