Gov. Greg Abbott has set January 29, 2019 as the special election date to fill HD 145 (the seat recently vacated by former Rep. Carol Alvarado) and HD 79 (recently vacated by Rep. Joe Pickett). Candidates must file with the Secretary of State by January 3. Early voting begins January 14, 2019.
